Dehradun: Right now the rainy season is going on. The weather Department has issued a red alert for maximum rainfall in four cities of Uttarakhand on Monday. Orange alert has been issued in three cities including Dehradun. Light rain may continue in other places as well.
Bikram Singh, director of weather Department, said that on Monday, red alert has been issued for maximum rainfall in the cities of Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Chamoli and Nainital. The concerned District Administration has also been advised to remain alert. People are requested to avoid traveling to the mountain in such weather. Orange alert of highest rainfall has been issued in Dehradun, Tehri and Pauri cities in next 24 hours. Here too the local administration has been asked to remain alert.
Seeing the possibility of maximum rainfall in the same state, the State Disaster Management Department has asked the collectors to be vigilant. In a letter issued to the District Magistrates on behalf of the State Disaster Management Department, it has been said that on August 17 and 18, there may be heavy rains in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Chamoli and Nainital cities. In such a situation, all officers related to IRS will be on high alert. Along with this, it has been said that under no circumstances should the mobile phones of the officers remain locked. Field personnel of Gram Panchayat and Revenue Department have been asked not to leave the place of posting. Along with this, the people of all the states have been alerted.
